Shadows of Them
(2022)

My roles: Level designer, environment artist, unity implementation, and project manager

Shadows of them is a first-person psychological horror game where the player must navigate a series of challenges, guiding a mother through her grief after the loss of her family. The game takes place in a metro station where the character is stuck in a seemingly endless loop as she struggles to cope with her grief.

I project managed this game over two months, overseeing that each team member was delivery work on time and that the team was working efficiently together as a whole. During this time, I also designed the underground tube station which I then went onto model and texture ready for implementation into Unity.   Below are examples of some other assets I created for the underground level, including escelators, signs and an overturned car.

As a team of 8, we developed this game for our first development module, ‘Hello World’. This module tasked us with developing a walking simulator, and we created the entire experience from the ground up in just six weeks including ideation, script writing, sound design, music composition, quality assurance testing and release. One of the major coups for the project was getting Janine Cooper-Marshall, the voice of Great Western Railway, to record lines for the train announcer in the game.
