Dreamwalker



Dreamwalker is a stylized orthographic platformer that takes players on a surreal journey through a floating house structure, suspended in a dream-like void. As players explore, they unlock rooms that delve deeper into the character’s subconscious, revealing hidden layers of the dream world.


This was the first solo game I developed, and it was also my introduction to programming. I took on multiple roles, including art director, environment artist and level designer. To craft the dream-like atmosphere, I worked with pre-made assets, adding my own touch by manipulating colors and lighting to create a unique, ethereal environment. I also took great pleasure in designing and illustrating the UI for the game’s menus, a process that later inspired me to create two additional 2D games.


Dreamwalker was a deeply creative project that allowed me to experiment with visual storytelling through abstract environments and platforming puzzles. The game’s dream-like void and floating house structure were designed to feel otherworldly and surreal, guiding players through a journey of self-discovery and subconscious exploration. While I relied on pre-made assets to build the platform puzzles, I focused on creating a distinct visual style through lighting and color manipulation, giving the game its atmospheric, dream-like quality.

This project marked an important milestone in my career, not only as my first solo game but also as my first venture into programming and UI design. It was a valuable learning experience, allowing me to explore new skills and creative directions that would influence my future projects.
